Vocal Gym Voice Lessons for Homeschoolers

My daughter Emma loves to sing and she takes a vocal performance class at our local homeschool co-op. But private voice lessons are out of our budget and would be challenging to fit into our homeschool schedule. We were thrilled to learn about a program called Vocal Gym!

We were given access to Vocal Gym and I was compensated for my time.
As usual, all opinions are my own honest thoughts.

Voice Lessons Online

Vocal Gym by Throga is a unique online homeschool curriculum designed to teach learners how to sing. This original program by Richard Fink IV, is designed around the Seven Dimensions of Singing. Not only is Richard considered to be the "world's leading online vocal coach," he is also a three-time world record holder for the world's longest held note!

Instructional modules work on each of these 7 Dimensions one at a time. Students learn not only tools and techniques, but develop a deeper understanding of the anatomy of singing. In fact, the included glossary is full of detailed illustrations that help students to understand the parts of their bodies that contribute to a strong singing voice.

Each Vocal Gym module focuses on one of the seven Dimensions of Singing and begins with a video overview of that aspect of developing a mature singing voice.

Vocal Gym modules also include many listening exercises to expose students to a wide range of musical and vocal styles and enable them to learn by listening to those who are masters in their field.

Individual Vocal Instruction

Vocal Gym includes rich and robust sequential instruction. But the true charm of this unique online program is that it offers personal, quantifiable assessment and progress measurement.

Each student who begins with Vocal Gym takes a personal assessment that measures his or her own abilities in each of the seven Dimensions of Singing.

The images above are from my daughter Emma's initial assessment before she began the program.
This gave her a clear idea of her areas of focus for maximum improvement.

High School Fine Arts Credit

Because Vocal Gym includes over 150 instructional hours of content, this online curriculum will satisfy the requirements for a homeschool high school fine arts credit. It also includes a comprehensive instructor dashboard so that homeschool parents can keep track of student progress and time spent on each module.
