Over the years we've used lots of different homeschool resources, programs, and curriculum. Which ones do we love best and recommend? This is a collection of our top favorites!

Large Family Homeschool Math Curriculum and Courses

Teaching Textbooks has been our go-to choice for math curriculum for several years running now. We use Teaching Textbooks 4.0 which works on any platform - laptop, Chromebook, tablet, even phone! Read more about Teaching Textbooks 4.0 here and here.

Loving Living Math is a fabulous resource by my friend Cindy West. It's a digital resource that shows you how to incorporate math learning into real life experiences (as well as tips about how to do that even while balancing time in a traditional math curriculum!). Ages: Elementary and Middle School

Large-Family-Friendly Features: inexpensive resource, purchase once and use over and over again, printable activities, easy to teach multiple ages at the same time

Facts That Stick is a series of books by Kate Snow - one each on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division - that incorporate games and explorations to help kids understand and absorb (not just memorize) math facts. Read more about Facts That Stick here.

Beast Academy Math is a fabulous resource for students who enjoy the challenge of math thinking and benefit from a conceptual, problem-solving approach. Read more about Beast Academy here.

Ages: Upper Elementary

Large-Family-Friendly Features: easy to teach multiple ages (even as young as upper elementary) together, materials are reusable so you only have to purchase once.

Large Family Homeschool Language Curriculum and Courses

Writer's Workshops designed by the homeschool mom sisters behind the Layers of Learning Curriculum it is meant to be used by a wide range of ages together. Begin with the Writer's Workshop "Jump Start" to lay the foundation for good habits, and then explore different literary formats in each subsequent unit. Read more about Writer's Workshop here.

Ages: Early Elementary - High School

Large-Family-Friendly Features: easy to teach multiple ages together, purchase PDFs and print copies for all of your kids, reuse in future years

WriteShop is a good, foundational writing curriculum that takes students from the basics of a solid paragraph all the way through a multi-paragraph essay. WriteShop I includes lessons 1-16 and WriteShop II includes Lessons 17-30. I've generally divided them up into three years of study (about 10 lessons per year). Learn more about WriteShop here.

Ages: Middle School - Early High School

Large-Family-Friendly Features: video curriculum available that does the teaching for you, once students learn the WriteShop approach, they can work fairly independently

Note: We have tried WriteShop Jr. and it didn't really click for us. Maybe others will have a different experience.
